How it startedDedicated to bringing the art of “Custom coach builder” to the highest standard of restoration. Founder, Richard Grenon has been into cars all his life, buying his first car at 14 and turning it into a street rod that he finished and drove when he got his license. During the earlier years he built and modified many cars. For many years Richard was a chief mechanic and trouble shooter for Mazda dealerships in Montreal, Canada. Early in life he learned to look at each car with a perceptive eye. In 1981 he opened his own shop in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, a small suburb of Montreal. Au Temps Tic/ ATT Auto has always surpassed itself on quality with detail over detail. Richard puts heart and soul into each restoration and a little bit of himself rolls out of the shop with each car. He meticulously restores the car as if it were his own, making sure it's the best of the best. Every restoration done by Richard can be picked out of a crowd of cars, each one being recognized for the detailed work that is Richard's signature. How we price our work Our cost efficiency is working on contract; the client knows at the onset of his contract what labor will cost him. Parts and material are estimated as close as possible to the cost and are paid on a monthly basis. Every full restoration is a min. of 3000 hrs. and a max. of 4000 hrs. for some cars. The research for parts and details takes 20% of the time on a full restoration. Each car undergoes a detailed examination to see what needs to be done to restore every part. Care goes into estimating what the client can expect his car to cost for labor, material and parts. When labor costs are quoted to the client it is final; one price for one restoration, there are no surprises for the client. The fixed price is divided into monthly payments depending on delivery; 12, 18 or max. 24 months. Richard is responsible for the labor, the client for his monthly labor payment, parts and material. The restoration or preservation is done one way; the only way a car can be restored and brought back to life.
